A mobile health vehicle is the practical way to reach workers on site, screening them without stopping production or disrupting shift patterns. The vehicle is not really a vehicle, it is an examination area built inside one, so the decision is mostly about the testing chain inside it and whether that chain holds up under inspection.
What to settle before commissioning a vehicle
- Which tests it will perform
- Chest radiography, audiometry, pulmonary function testing and vision screening each demand different space, power and isolation. Audiometry needs a sound-isolated compartment, radiography needs lead shielding. If the test list is not fixed at the start, the layout does not get adjusted later, it gets rebuilt.
- Digital output for imaging
- Images captured on site are expected to be produced digitally in a standard format so they can be reported. A CR or DR based setup removes film, which changes both reporting speed and archive burden. Selecting a panel and generator suited to in-vehicle vibration and temperature is a separate question worth asking.
- Calibration and uptime
- Equipment inside the vehicle is subject to periodic calibration, and field conditions increase that need compared with a fixed site. Who calibrates, how often, and how many days the vehicle leaves the field when something fails, are all part of the purchase decision.
- Power, generator and autonomy
- Runtime off mains, generator capacity and whether devices can run simultaneously are the constraints most often hit in the field. The number of people to be screened drives daily working hours, and therefore the whole power design.
Regulatory requirements change from time to time, so we recommend confirming current conditions before configuring a vehicle. Dentem has worked in radiology and occupational health equipment since 1994: we build the testing chain inside the vehicle and keep its calibration and service running with our own team. Tell us how many people you plan to screen and which tests are involved, and we will work the configuration out with you.
